Curriculum vitae
Dr. Thomas Weimann (née Schröder), who comes from the Sauerland region of Germany, completed his studies at the Philipps University of Marburg, with periods spent in Wales and at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, United States. He completed his doctorate under Prof. S. Bien, Institute of Neuroradiology, Philipps University Marburg. This was followed by a period as an intern at the Hanover City Hospital under Prof. Dr. Dr. Welkoborsky in the ENT Clinic until 2002.
He then completed his further training as a specialist in diagnostic radiology under Prof. Dr. J. Freyschmidt and Prof. Dr. Terwey at Bremen Mitte Hospital and, from 2006, at Vivantes Neukölln Hospital in Berlin. In 2008, at the age of 36, Dr. Weimann became senior consultant and deputy to the new head physician Dr. J. Seemann at the Barnim Clinic in Eberswalde, north of Berlin. Under new management, the Department of Radiology and Neuroradiology became one of the largest radiology departments between Berlin and Greifswald, specializing in vascular malformations, acute care and interventional stroke therapy. The focus of Dr. Weimann’s work was on CT and MRI imaging of the head and neck region, joints and tumor diseases, the training of medical colleagues and the treatment of all vascular provinces as well as pain therapy and diagnostic intervention.
For one year, he was head of the newly founded CT department as a senior physician with the training of med. tech. Radiology assistants at the Schlosspark-Klinik in Berlin-Charlottenburg before moving to Bonn. Among other things, he introduced pain therapy interventions and CT-guided tissue removal (e.g. from the lungs) as a method and accompanied the radiology certification of the new stroke unit at the Schlosspark Clinic.
He came to the Beta Klinik in Bonn in 2014. Dr. Weimann is a certified specialist in neuroradiology. He is a member of the German Radiology Society. He is also a passionate beekeeper, musician and father of a young daughter.
