Curriculum vitae
Dr. Axel Jung completed his medical studies in Aachen and Melbourne and worked at the Chris Hani Baragwanath Hospital in South Africa from 1994 to 1995 as part of his practical year. After completing his doctorate in 1997, he passed his specialist examinations in neurosurgery and special neurosurgical intensive care medicine at the neurosurgical university hospitals in Aachen and Bonn in 2003 and 2005. He has been a neurosurgeon at the Beta Klinik since 2008, after several years as a senior physician at the University Clinic for Neurosurgery in Bonn.
Dr. Jung is a member of the German Spine Society, the German Society for Neurosurgery and AOSpine. He specializes in microscopic surgery using the latest techniques on the head and spine. In student training, his teaching activities at the University of Bonn were honored with 2nd place in the “Teacher of the Year” category in 2008.
Dr. Jung enjoys taking on sporting challenges. Numerous participations in German and international competitions in the breaststroke and dolphin swimming disciplines, e.g. at the Masters European and World Championships, characterize his sporting commitment.
