Dr. med. Andre W. Demant

Dr. Andre W. Demant studied medicine at the Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms University in Bonn. During his training, he spent time abroad at the Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York and the Inselspital in Bern.

Dr. Demant began his clinical training with Prof. Dr. T. Sauerbruch in the Department of Internal Medicine at the University Hospital of Bonn. Here he completed his doctorate with an experimental urological thesis. He completed his radiology training in Bern and at the University Hospital in Cologne. There, he completed his specialist radiology examination with a specialization in paediatric radiology. From 2010, he was the permanent deputy head of the specialty area and senior physician at the Institute and Polyclinic for Radiological Diagnostics.

In mid-2011, Dr. Demant took over as Head of the Department of Imaging Diagnostics at the St. Augustin Children’s Hospital and set up the MRI unit in cooperation with the Beta Klinik. Since January 2013, he has been primarily responsible for sectional imaging diagnostics at the Beta Klinik – especially for pediatric radiology issues.

Dr. Demant is a DEGUM-certified examiner for radiology and pediatrics. He is the author of numerous scientific papers and pediatric radiology publications. In 2011, he received the Science Award of the Society for Pediatric Radiology as co-author. He is also a member of the German Radiological Society (DRG), the Society for Pediatric Radiology (GPR) and the German Society for Ultrasound in Medicine (DEGUM).
